A series of workshops in soft and oil pastel

Coming very soon is PPA’s next never-to-miss Hagod Pastel painting session. Capture the charm, dynamism and vibrancy of painting flowers in Iris Babao Uy’s Floral Still Life workshop. Mark your calendars for August 28 as this award-winning pastelist focuses on creating the effects of light and shadow on a floral still life, playing with values, form and color, while showing options for wet underpainting to create a base for succeeding layers. Iris will also guide us through to make a sanded paper suitable for wet media.

This workshop will be conducted via Zoom, and participants will have access to the video recording afterwards. ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Iris will focus on creating the effects of light and shadow on a floral still life, while showing options for wet underpainting to create a base for succeeding layers. She will also guide us through to make a sanded paper suitable for wet media using hot press watercolor paper and clear textured gesso.
